Processing Notes: The dark, bitter sap is harvested from the cut leaves by an age old, natural leaching process. The sap is then boiled slowly and reduced, allowing it to harden into a crystalline form as it cools. The product must remain cool during the grinding process to prevent it from becoming soft and gummy. The integral constituents of the plant are not compromised during the boiling process due to their natural tolerance of heat.
